Skye slowly brought his face closer and closer to mine until I felt his warm, soft lips against mine. My eyes fluttered shut, and I breathed in deeply through my nose, trying to take in as much of his beautiful scent as I could; he smelled like the cool, night air. His kiss was gentle, hesitant. I could feel him analyzing my reaction the way he had whenever he'd been with me before.

Silence followed, but then Skye whispered, "What?"

"You heard me!" I nearly shouted, looking up at him. I had shifted out of his grip and was leaning against my headboard, hugging my knees to my chest. I was immediately met by the chilly air, but I didn't care. "Why did you leave me for all that time? Why? That's what I don't understand! If you really cared… why didn't you come back to me?" My voice grew weaker at the end, and I immediately bit back a quiet sob.

I wasn't sure how long we were just there together. Overtime, I stopped shivering and my uneven breathes became more controlled. That is, until Skye lightly ran his hand up and down the length of my back. A shiver of pleasure quickly traveled from my head to my toes, and I gasped in surprise.

Skye immediately stopped and tightened his grip around me. "Are you okay?" came his worried voice.

I pulled my head back to look into his emerald eyes, which were conveying as much concern as his voice had. I smiled and said, "I'm fine! You just… just surprised me a little, that's all…"

Birds chirped noisily outside Claire and Skye's home. Claire fluttered her eyes, and woke up smiling, noticing Skye beside her, still fast asleep. She quietly laughed, because her husband hardly ever woke up early.

Claire took a seat at her table, munching on a piece of toast. She heard Skye yawn, get out of bed, and sat beside her, sipping some coffee. "Good morning," he murmured, still groggy from sleep. Claire grinned.

"Guess you're not a morning person."

"Not at all Angel." Claire rested her head on Skye's shoulder, while he stroked her blond hair. Finally, Skye asked something completely random.

Things happen at certain times. And they also happen for certain reasons. The crops grow at a certain rate depending on how they are cared for. Some flowers grow because its spring, or summer.
I also think that some things happen for no reason at all. Like tripping on your own feet. There may be a reason for it, but there is the feel that one is not needed. Then there is no reason at all.
